Terms & Conditions
GENERAL: The Site is owned and operated by the Watercolor Society of South Texas (WSSTX). Unless otherwise specified, all Materials on the Site are the property of the WSSTX and are protected by the copyright laws of the United States and throughout the world. You may use or view the Materials from the Site solely for your personal, informational use within our organization. You shall not willingly share passwords or share information that is private and considered ‘members only’. Guest Workshops are password protected and should only be accessible to paying members. You shall not remove any copyright or other proprietary notices. You shall not copy or distribute any Materials published by the WSSTX on the Site or any portion of those Materials beyond this organization without the prior written permission or consent of the organization. This means that you shall not copy, reproduce, modify, republish, upload, post, or send any Materials (or portions of Materials) or any materials associated with any e-learning module, guest product page information, photos, sketches, photos of paintings in any form or by any means. Only the authorized purchaser of the digital download option of a video or e-learning product may use the digital download and information. An authorized purchaser is the entity or institution that purchased the Materials. The WSSTX does not permit you to link to privately available Materials available in a part of the Site that requires a password to enter or is otherwise restricted., In all of these instances, if the WSSTX discovers a breach in these terms, we have the sole right to revoke membership and access to this site. Materials available in a part of the Site that requires a password to enter or is otherwise restricted must be treated as Confidential Information unless otherwise marked and may not be used or disclosed except as expressly permitted as private accessed materials through this site.
REGISTRATION: You will be given the opportunity to create and register a user account (your “Account”) that you may use to receive information from the WSSTX through mailchimp or to participate in certain features and functionalities of the Site. By registering and becoming a member of the WSST, you will automatically be added to our mailing list and receive our Newsletters. By registering, you represent, warrant, and confirm to the WSSTX that all information that you provide on the registration form is complete, current, and otherwise accurate. The WSSTX may rely on the information you provide, including any user IDs or passwords you create, to identify you and your activity. You must promptly update and otherwise maintain your information to keep your Account current. You agree that the WSSTX may use the information you provide for any purpose so long as such use does not violate standard private policies. The WSSTX does not share any personal or financial information to any third party and all information associated with your registration details including personal and financial data is secure to this site.
PASSWORDS: If you are issued or create any password or other credentials to access the Site or any parts of functionalities that are part of the Site, you shall not give or share your password or credentials available to any unauthorized individuals. You shall be responsible for all actions taken by anyone to whom you have provided your credentials. If you believe that your credentials have been lost or stolen or that someone may attempt to use them to access the Site without your consent, you must notify the WSSTX at once via email contact email@example.com.
SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE: By purchasing a membership by subscription, you agree to an initial payment in the form of a monthly or yearly fee. If a yearly subscription is chosen, after one year and annually thereafter, you will be billed a recurring Subscription renewal fee at the then-current Subscription rate. We will not notify you of the recurring fee as this is done automatically through paypal services. You may cancel your Subscription any time before the next billing cycle, subject to the terms of any provided cancellation policies.
GUEST ARTIST WORKSHOPS: Guest Artist Workshops including the Video and Materials presented are presently $15 to all members. The materials and all information presented is the sole property of the WSST and may not be shared to other members and is available to paying members of the WSSTX. The workshops and materials will remain available to our members as long as the membership is current. Most of these workshops are typically 2 to 3 hours in length and recorded in High Definition and Audio. When purchased, you will be given a unique password to access each guest workshop through our members only sections of this website. You agree not to copy, reproduce, modify, republish, upload, post, or send any Materials (or portions of Materials) or any materials associated with a guest workshop in any form or by any means.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is WSST strictly a transparent watercolor organization?
Not at all. The WSST welcomes all forms of water media; watercolor and acrylic as long as watercolor paper, yupo (a plastic paper) and board is used. Our prospectus will is available on our website.
Do I have to be a professional artist to join?
No, the WSST is open to all levels of experience. We encourage beginners and students to join to take advantage of all the workshops, demonstrations, paint-outs, and an annual member’s exhibition.
Does SWS have a communications system to keep members informed?
The WSST provides a quarterly NEWSLETTER which can be accessed on our NEWSLETTER page. As a member, you will be placed on a mass email list for updates and other information.
Do you have to be invited by a WSST member to join?
No. Anyone that paints in water media is eligible to be a member as long as a $35 annual (individual) membership fee is paid.
Is there a waiting period of WSST membership before you can enter the Member show?
No, you can join, pay your membership and enter all in the same process. And you can do this on our convenient on-line entry process, even pay with PayPal or credit card. A PO Box mailing address is also provided which is located on our JOIN page.
Does WSST have a Signature recognition program:
Yes, there are several ways to achieve signature status with the WSST. If you are awarded a total of (5) awards of distinction at our annual members show, you can gain signature status through the WSST. Each award is consider a ‘point’.
We also recognize awards and acceptance honored by the SWS. By being accepted to five (5) SWS (Southwestern Watercolor Society) juried/sponsored shows you can earn SWS and WSST Signature Status.
There is no time limit to achieve signature status. Each award is recognized at a point either from the WSST or the SWS. In 2020, we will recognize all awards given from 2010-2019 towards signature status. If you have 5 ‘points’, you can petition the board for review of signature status.
